I have been switching to GoodSense generics and have noticed no difference between them and either the name brands or pricier generics.

My latest switch has been to this bottle of GoodSense aspirin which arrived with an expiration date over eighteen months in the future. It’s a good and economical value and an easy way to make sure that we have an adequate supply on hand.

I’m going to assume that the aspirin I received is safe, but the bottle I received has a really strong vinegar smell to it. The bottle I received has an expiration date that does not expire for another year (12/18 expiration date), so I’m assuming it’s not a product expiration problem. Regardless, I won’t be buying this brand of aspirin again just to be safe since I’ve never experienced this smell with other generic brands of aspirin I’ve purchased in the past.

Good value. I take one per day. The bump down is because I purchased these at the end of September 2017 with a label expiration date of 12/18. While they’re still “by the label,” fine, they almost immediately started emitting a very strong vinegar smell. So much so that it’s almost like a punch in the face every time the bottle is opened. Apparently, this is what aspirin smells like after a usual expiration date. I did some more research on it, and apparently even after the expiration date, most pills retain their effects for years. I’ll still continue to take this product, but it’s a little bit of a letdown that every time I open it for the next 450ish days, I’ll get hit with that smell.
